Engagements citoyens et solidarités transnationales en Europe au tournant des années 1990

Angle mort de l’étude des mouvements sociaux, les mobilisations de citoyens pour une cause en Europe de l’Est ont marqué la France, l’Allemagne, la Belgique ou encore l’Italie des décennies 1980 et 1990. Revenir sur cette histoire récente dans une approche comparative et interdisciplinaire permet d’évaluer les transformations du militantisme mais aussi la façon d’écrire l’histoire de l’après 1989. Réunissant des historiens, des sociologues et politistes travaillant dans plusieurs pays européens, cette journée d’études permettra aussi de faire dialoguer militants et chercheurs au cours d’une table ronde qui clora la manifestation.

Citizens' mobilisations for a cause in Eastern Europe are a blind spot in the study of social movements but left their mark on France, Germany, Belgium and other Western European countries in the 1980s and 1990s. Looking back at this recent history in a comparative and interdisciplinary approach is an opportunity to take stock of both the transformations of activism and how the history of the post-­‐1989 period has been written. Bringing together historians, sociologists and political scientists working in several European countries, this workshop will also provide an opportunity for dialogue between activists and scholars during the concluding round table.
