Europe at a Crossroads: European Security Challenges in the Post-Crimean Age

The overarching theme of the conference is the security environment of the EU and its closest neighbors. Armed conflict is the main focus of interest, however events in individual countries, the general political direction today and a range of factors and influences will also be discussed. It will be examined the role of the EU in conflict management, its foreign policy, current crises, wars and conflicts in Eastern Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus and the Southern Neighborhood countries. European integration as a tool of conflict prevention will also be assessed. The aim of the event is to provide the participants, whether primarily interested in defense and security or conflict management, with a broad understanding of the current situation in the region.
