From “Ukrainization” to territorial revisionism: extremists in CEE and the pro-Russian propaganda
A webinar organised by VSquare on how extremists in Central and Eastern Europe play out in the pro-Russian disinformation machine
Russia’s war against Ukraine has opened a brand-new front for disinformation and influence operations. A major influx of refugees in neighbouring countries is creating avenues for exploitation of local nationalism, xenophobia and anti-Western narratives, already on the rise.
During the webinar experts from the region will share key findings from the UKRAINE MONITOR project (Monitoring of Networks of Influence Tactics and Operations in the Region). The project aims to check out how Ukraine-related disinformation is reflected and used within the far-right and extremist communities to advance goals consistent with Russian interests. We have monitored online activity among extreme groups in Romania, Hungary, Poland, and Serbia.
