Una parte del discorso di Gheddafi all’Assemblea Generale delle Nazioni Unite, il 23.9.2009, fu dedicata alla Jugoslavia e alla richiesta di indagine sulle guerre balcaniche.
“Quel paese pacifico, la Jugoslavia, era stato costruito con le proprie forze, mattone per mattone, dopo che Hitler l’aveva distrutto, per essere distrutto di nuovo con la stessa modalità hitleriana. La Federazione jugoslava, paese pacifico creato da un eroe della pace, Tito, fu costruita pietra su pietra, e dopo la morte di Tito, voi siete venuti nell’ex Jugoslavia e l’avete distrutta pezzo per pezzo per i vostri interessi individuali, imperialistici. Come potremmo sentirci sicuri, noialtri, di cosa ci succederà dopo quello che è successo alla pacifica Jugoslavia? L'Assemblea generale deve investigare su questo, deve vedere chi debba essere processato alla Corte Internazionale..."
