I met zio Jovo last year, a week before the world “closed” for Coronavirus. I was in Sarajevo to collect materials for my History Thesis about the Jugoslav wars. He was very gentle and clear in answering all my “technical” questions, but what I will remember forever was his straight, transparent and honest minded attitude related to the most important task of life: education, freedom, justice. All his life showed the world that freedom is not a flag, but a moral attitude.Thanks for showing all of us what humanity is.

Ho conosciuto zio Jovo l'anno scorso, una settimana prima che il mondo “chiudesse” per Coronavirus. Ero a Sarajevo per raccogliere materiale per la mia tesi di storia sulle guerre jugoslave.
È stato molto gentile e chiaro nel rispondere a tutte le mie domande "tecniche", ma quello che ricorderò per sempre è il suo atteggiamento schietto, trasparente e onesto relativo ai compiti più importanti della vita: istruzione, libertà, giustizia.
Tutta la sua vita ha mostrato al mondo che la libertà non è una bandiera, ma un atteggiamento morale.
Grazie di aver mostrato a tutti noi che cos'è l'umanità.
