For OBCT, Francesca Rita interviews Alice Baroni, a researcher who worked on online harassment and offline abuse against women (photo-) journalists, with a focus on gender-based hate speech, digital attacks and image-based abuse. She provides an overview of women journalists’ condition in different European countries, with a focus on Italy, intertwining online abuse, offline aggressive behaviour, visual imagery and the effects on women journalists.
