Insajderi: an online media renews the investigative journalism of Kosovo

One of the most prominent authors of Koha Ditore, Vehbi Kajtazi has launched with a partner, on February 1st, the online media Insajderi, focusing in particular on investigative journalism. Within a media landscape already overcrowded, this new media aims to distinguish itself through investigations which are hard to find anywhere else.

Theatrical play censored because it contains texts by a convict for terrorism

A demonstration against censorship is organized today after the art director decided to censor the theatrical play “Nash’s equilibrium”. The play by Pigi Dimitrakopoulou was discontinued after massive negative reactions, for allegedly insulting the memory of the victims of the 17N terrorist group.

Chaos is not unintentional because right-wing media are determined to control the media scene after election, convinced that they were so far “silenced” because of the previous government and not because of theirs radicalism and lack of professionalism.

Hasanbegović: Ministry of culture needs to reform department of media and media policies

The new minister of Culture of Croatia, Zlatko Hasanbegović declared that in the last three years the Ministry of Culture employed 30 people through unidentified and unclear criteria. Hasanbegović did not clarify why the criteria adopted for the selection would be unclear, nor did he specify whether or not he intends to get rid of recently employed people considered “unfit”. He did not even provide explanation for the declaration according to which “media is a burden for the Ministry of culture”. Does that mean that there is no room for the elaboration of media policy by the Ministry of culture? Or rather that the media sector needs to be reformed?
