A harsh, essential land, a life marked by isolation and the perpetual, unrelenting cycle of seasons. A photo report by Ivo Danchev, in the mountains of northern Albania, in the Pukë and Fushë Arrëz areas
In this area, only a few farmers and breeders hold on in the more isolated villages, suspended between the rocky peaks and the sky – small communities that preserve knowledge thousands of years old, in danger of disappearing, but that today hope for organic agriculture and farming and alternative tourism to revitalise a region that, until a few years ago, seemed doomed to succumb to depopulation.
