Zugdidi's IDPs
During the war in 1992-1993, more than 200,000 ethnic Georgians living in Abkhazia were forced to leave their homes. Some managed to return in the following years, others successfully started a new life elsewhere in Georgia. But many do not yet have proper housing, and live still in dire conditions. Zugdidi, the closest city under the control of authorities in Tbilisi across the de facto border.
