Europe

Over the years, OBCT's efforts have been constantly aimed at supporting, contributing, and participating in a transnational European civil society: looking at the grassroots movements, interacting with European institutions, "feeling" European citizens. In our publishing, analysis, and activist work we have always looked at Europe as a unique opportunity for peace and coexistence.

In these difficult days of coronavirus pandemic, the capacity to give common answers and to feel part of a single project by the European Union member states has seemed to falter dramatically. The historical meaning of what is happening - and the importance of the answers that will be given - is clear to everyone.

That is why in the coming weeks we will continue to follow carefully the difficult ridge between emergency measures and protection of civil rights; we will be keeping our eyes focused on the fate of the most marginalised communities, starting from refugees and migrants, and we will continue to give voice - opposing any propaganda - to the solidarity-based Europe we believe in.
